Game Max Elysium or Falcon PC Case Review
You got yourself a lemon mate , it's unfortunate and can happen to anyone! I'm on my 2nd Mini R56 Cooper D and it's already 14 years old and still drives like new and has been almost 100% reliable so far, just regular maintenance. It's one of the best used cars out there imo if you get obviously a properly maintened one.
Think I'm going to sell mine tomorrow.. I'm depressed.. 😭😭😭😭😭
2012 clubman S...Mini car. Maxi problems...junk. garbage. crap. scrap. money pit. piece of s**t. after 5 years they're almost worthless. worst piece of junk i've ever owned and has ever been made. almost bankrupted me. i needed therapy after i dumped that garbage can and i still have nightmares. folks...if you value your mental health and financial wealth, don't do it, just don't do it.
Shut up
My 2004 R53 Cooper S only has 26K miles but is error free. Trading it for a 2013 JCW convertible next week.... I love Minis.
It's never fun when trouble hits you on a used car. And you rightly say here that you could have avoided a lot of it had you not bought the car. If I may, here's some friendly advice from a professional. First off, I continue to be amazed at how cheaply you Brits can get used cars and have them repaired. The prices you quoted would be like winning the lottery in the Nordic Countries. Now, since used cars are dirt cheap in Britain (it's because export market is weak due to right hand drive) - that also means that new cars are hugely more expensive to own in Britain than they are in rest of Europe. Did I lose you yet? OK here's how it works. Since used cars are very cheap there that means huge depreciation on newer cars. Sometimes you may avoid some trouble by going new, but you will never ever save money. Not with labor charges as cheap as you get in Britain. So do what almost nobody does and do some hard math where you take into account the depreciation on the newer car. It doesn't matter if you get bill for X pounds on an older car or if it has no resale value etc. The only thing that matters is the total expense of ownership. This is something almost nobody understands so almost everyone overspends on cars by huge margins. When you say you got 1000 pounds for the car in part exchange - does that include the discount on the asking price on the new car? See, if they only took that 1000 off the asking price in return for your old car then you just got cleaned. A way better deal would be to privately sell the old car and then pay a discount price on the new car. And let me guess, you financed the new car, right? Well that's where the dealers really rob you. Say your new car costs 20k. Your yearly depreciation at the very beginning can be 15% yearly or even more. And then if you get suckered in and swap that car for another in two years, that's where you really lose your pension. See they won't ever pay you the going rate for the car, but you have to take again 15% less than the car is worth making the deal. So there you will lose 45% of the new car price just by trading it in after two years. And that's not counting cost of financing. So let's say you lost that 9k in two years. Make that 6k if you kept the first new car and didn't trade it in yet. Then calculate the bottom line in comparison to what repairs on your old car would have cost you. Are you seeing the big picture yet? Now factor in that new cars in general are far from reliable. And do you want to know how much they cost to repair after warranty? Well if you want to keep that warranty the cost of that is 4.5k per year as I just demonstrated. Think an old car has no resale value? Think again. Getting 500 pounds for an old car that you're not paying interest on is way better than taking a hit for 2500 pounds when you sell a new-ish car that you were paying interest on.
Nice
Who’d of thought BMW would be satisfied having so many faults in a classic icon car.
I wish I'd found this video 3 days ago. I just bought a 2007 Mini Cooper. 1.6 litre, 6 gear manual thinking a new clutch ain't a bad shout. Then first traffic jam... a little ... mist of fumage in the wind. I don't have the start stop function. Super basic Cooper. Feels awesome. Drives great... but.. I feel . I'm not sure how I feel about this.😅
I’ve been tempted to buy one but since hearing so many horror stories..No thanks…
They are amazing fun. If it's looked after or you have the budget to get it sorted it's a great car
Not even 10 seconds in and I'm hooked. This is the kind of camera reviews I'm here for.
Cheers😂
310 000 miles this week, and still loving my little Clubman ^^
Do you do all the work yourself? Thank you.
Good one! Does that support ATX and MiniATX?
The case I used will but it depends on the donor case
Love your video:) We would be happy to collaborate. If you are interested, could you please provide your email address?
I adore this video
Those timing chains 🤦🏻♂️ They seem to be a problem with quite a few BMW models.
It’s a vintage film camera, not a $1,500 4k digital photography camera. And you have to adjust the exposure when taking pictures in low light or outdoors in sunny conditions. There’s a slider underneath the lens that changes how much light gets to the camera.
White smoke bother's me as well on mine 2011 R56:). Already got a replacement of what we call "oil cup" and it's gasket, got the stabilizer bushings replaced (front + rear) and practically - that's it. Owning for a year. Bought a 189 000 km one. Had driven 2500 km/year
ta mate, good advice and for free
As a professional Polaroid dude I’m ded from laughing
the film packs are actually about the same as it used to be, adjusted for inflation, but unfortunately come with 8 sheets instead of the 10 they used to include.
my impulse 600 my parents got when i was a baby, has a counter that starts at 10, once i reach 3, i know i’m on my last shot. i knew it had something to do with this
I love Polaroids - the pictures you took were all awesome
The comedy in this is priceless 😂 Polaroid is definitely hit or miss at times
People nowadays complain about anything smh
So with all these points you still bought the car.... I guess we can all learn from this mistake.
It’s all true, but it is about managing expectations. You know that back when Polaroids were the new thing, it was all we had. The photos looked mediocre at best, but it’s what we had. Now, people buy them for the nostalgia of it. Sometimes people expect DSLR quality photos from a Polaroid camera and it’s simply not possible. When we used Polaroids, we wished for better quality but it just wasn’t affordable at the time. So today, if you want a Polaroid, you should understand that you are intentionally buying low quality photos. It would be painless if the film wasn’t so outrageously expensive.
If you only knew how to shoot it correctly. If only there was a channel that teaches people how…. Oh wait!! 😉
Will come take a look and save up for another cartridge of film!
😂
It’s the vibe man and sometimes that’s all you need for a memory
Gotta practice more I guess 😢
I have found that the film that has been most sucessful for me is the instax mini monorchrome, its also the cheapest!
😂😂😂😂😂
I think some of these shots were beautiful, and very difficult to make on a more modern camera. It is true, if it’s not what you’re looking for the outcome can be disappointing, but that’s because you’re looking for a different kind of artistic style.
Now I'm nervous just bought a 2014 3cyl turbo 90,000 in great condition my mechanic did a thorough inspection and gave it a thumps up. Pray for me please
If yours is a 2014 it's the 3rd generation. It's a very different car. I don't know much about them to be honest. However put your worries aside and enjoy the car. They are great great fun first and foremost
@isofilmy drow a Honda ex+t for a year after 19 years of enjoying driving 2003 at 80,000 it went downhill sold it to cover what I put into it the last 5,000 miles. Honda is a great car for what it is but boring and driving across county twice was enough.
I don’t think it’s the cameras that are disappointing. It’s the lack of vintage 80’s Polaroid film. The new stuff doesn’t come close to it.
I bought a one-step close-up at Walgreens in the early 2000s. I was glad to shoot the original film. Even though the new film is not as good I still enjoy it and it is getting better what's on my favorite scenes I shot with the new stuff happened to be buildings.
Minox 36 cameras are super nice
in personal experience the minoxes with the LR44 batteries under expose by 2/3 stops, i just set the ISO in the camera considerring that
Oooooh good to know! I finally just got a battery for my Minox and will definitely keep this in mind when I put my first roll through it.
Sorry to say this, but what happened is not uncommon. Modern electronics and German perfection did (don’t) mingle. I had several Minoxes and I loved them. The first one I bought when it had just come out as their latest model. It lasted for several years. Then troubles with the shutter. Could not be repaired. I bought several second hand ones after that, and sooner or later, the shutter gives up. You find out when the film has been developed. From what I found out, this a basic flaw. Such a pity, but no more Minox for me, especially because you don’t notice when taking shots.
ALWAYS try the camera gear before you go on holiday ! I have not used analog cameras since 2007 and I do not like the all the chemicals that pollutes ! I used the Minox 35 ML a a candid "street" photography camera, but when I wanted the best quality I used the Leica Minilux which have the best ever Lens on a compact analog camera.
Oh my gosh exactly! Or taking photos of any important moments.
am I the only one that thinks there’s something magical about capturing an old low quality looking photo? it’s about the memory, not the photo. if you want a perfect picture we can have those printed at printing place from a high quality camera.
Who specs their car with a sunroof but omits the AC completely? It’s like you’re purposely trying to turn your car into a green house🤦🏻♂️
I am in the process of buying a 2012 Mini Cooper S with 131k here in the USA. ( June 2023) It runs great. The paint 🎨 exterior is terrible. Probably going to paint 🎨 it right away. The car 🚗 has had 5 different owners. I’m thinking these folks have done plenty of work on the car. I am concerned some what about the issues that may arise. Luckily, I have a great shop I can bring the car 🚗 too. Hopefully, I’ll have some good luck 🍀 with it!
I believe several components were improved in the later second gen cars (2011-2013). Something to do with the timing chain guide. I'm sure you'll have a great time with it! Enjoy
Maybe a sticky shutter? A camera that's been stored a long time, might just need some gentle use prior to putting a film.through it The ones that were exposed turned out ok.
Oh man, how tragic! Nothing worse then pulling a roll out of the tank and seeing pus. RUclips recommended you, I enjoyed the video and your humour!!
Such a sad feeling for sure.
A camera is never disappointing, photographers and their expectations are
I'm an amateur photographer just like to do it as a hobby. You just have to work within each cameras limitations. I still experiment. Even if a Polaroid isn't perfect I still find it exciting. Even if the colors aren't accurate but Polaroid is getting better I've still enjoyed photos I've taken.
Nothing wrong with the shutter. You have 4 LR44 batteries stacked in there, which give 6V, original mercury battery was 5.6V. The voltage difference is enough to make the camera underexpose by 3 stops. The lowest ISO you can select on the camera is 25, which you have to choose with ISO 200 film (makes ISO 200 film the slowest film you can use in this camera.)
How do you know the voltage to stop ratio? I feel like 3 stops wouldn't count for some of those frames, you would still see the highlights in the pictures.
Nothing here that can’t be bought with any other vehicle, sadly a fsh doesn’t mean the car has been looked after.
As an ex- camera technician, I’d recommend you to buy an Olympus XA or XA-2. The Minox 35’s are basically a shite camera with a decent lens. I carry a Minox subminiature camera, loaded with ADOX HR-50, all of the time.
I really like these cameras, are portable and super sharp. But the shutter is quite delicated. Understanding your performance on camera, seems that the two bolts that are on the back of the camera went moved. This means that the film lever does not clock the shutter, in that way, sometimes the shutter does not open totally, try to shoot and look the shutter... If you don't see it opening it may be this issue. And it is very easy to fix 🎉
hilarious commentary and nice camera review! Thanks for this vid!
